a date with Ella

mood:

Ella sent a text message on Friday night asking if we could just meet at 11am of Saturday. We originally planned to meet at 9am. It was a good thing as I didn’t realize the Laundromat will be closed on Sunday for Easter.

I finally met Ella’s husband, Jeff, in person last Saturday. Along with them was Bill, Jeff’s friend. We met at Macy’s in 34th Street and walked towards Times Square. We had lunch at Times Square Brewery. Then, we went to TKTS to buy tickets for the play. We were kind of undecided at first and Ella finally picked ‘Doubt’. I didn't even know they actually have this booth wherein they sell tickets at half the price. The play was a nice one. The acting was really great. The actors did a very good job. The story is about a nun having suspicions on the priest’s relationship with a 12 yr. old boy. She really did everything to make the priest resign even though in the end, she kind of admitted she made up some stories and she had doubts with what she was trying to prove.

Then, we just kept on walking along the Times Square area. We stopped by Starbuck’s, grabbed some coffee and cookies. We even went at a Flea Market. Jeff kept on taking pictures. It was around 6pm when we said our goodbyes. I really had fun even though it was kind of short. It was so nice to have seen Ella and be with her. The last time I saw her was June 2004 when we went to Virginia.
